Bill Shirley, MCC
Independent of the industry or the specific business, Bill discovered that shifting the organization’s culture was the key to a successful turnaround. Regardless of the initial appearances, the fundamental causes were never technical, or task-oriented, but always relationship-oriented. Once the organization’s culture elicited honesty, openness and trust from the top down, the performance measures of the enterprise dramatically improved simply because the employees were now working together as a fully engaged, loyal, enthusiastic team.
Bill graduated with a Chemical Engineering Degree in the mid-1950’s, completed his military obligation and earned his Professional Engineer License in 1960. He soon became a specialist in the turnaround of unprofitable operations in both the manufacturing and service industries.
Bill is a life-long student of modern management theory and practice. In 2006, the International Coach Federation (ICF) awarded Bill the Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential. At that time, less than a 750 coaches in the world met the ICF standard for its highest credential. In 2009, he became an ICF Assessor of Coaching Competency.
He has walked in the shoes of those who lead businesses and professional service companies. He understands the leaders’ isolation, overwhelm and frustration, and their difficulty in creating a low-stress, fulfilling life adventure of their own design.
Susan Shirley, MBA, CPCC
Susan has worked at leadership levels in the nonprofit sector in a variety of fields for over 30 years. She’s developed an expertise with building from “start-up” to sustainability and with revitalization or restructuring of existing organizations that have floundered or been unsuccessful in sustaining growth.
She understands the critical steps necessary to success in any business by challenging the patterns which emerge and get in the way of progress. She well understands that success in one stage of a business cycle may bring its biggest problems in the next. She is curious about systems and people within them and brings a wide-range of knowledge and practical know-how to assisting in building or revitalizing organizations through the relationships, they have with the individuals within them.
She knows that organizations that value and respect the individuals within them create environments in which work is more fun, more fulfilling and brings great results to the bottom line. Susan earned her MBA in International Management from the University of Bristol in England. She is a certified professional coach and an associate member of the International Coaching Federation and a member of the National Council of Planned Giving, Colorado Chapter.
